Lake McDonald in the Laurentians
By joining the Lake McDonald Association, you gain access to the beautiful beach as well as the boat launch.

Located about 50 km from Montreal, in the Township of Harrington in the Laurentians, along Route 327, Lake McDonald stretches three kilometers long and one kilometer wide.

The lake is bordered:

To the west by the Rouge River and Lake Papineau,
To the east by a series of small lakes, including Fraser Lake, Sixteen Island Lake, Laurel Lake, Silver Lake, and Wentworth Lake,
To the south by the Ottawa River,
To the north by Mont-Tremblant Park.
The lake is fed by several mountain streams and by the Lost River, which for a long time gave its name to the nearest small hamlet.

In fact, Lake McDonald consists of two main bodies of water: Grand Lake McDonald in the north and Little Lake McDonald in the south. These two sections are connected by a waterway known as The Narrows. This area includes several marshy and wetland zones that contribute to the lake's environmental balance.

There are two small islands, including Brown Island, located at the southern entrance of Grand Lake McDonald.

In 1968, the CAMMAC center was established on the shores of Lake McDonald. This center belongs to the CAMMAC organization (Canadian Amateur Musicians -- Musiciens amateurs du Canada), a non-profit organization founded in 1953 to promote musical activities among amateur musicians.

Welcome to Lake McDonald!
